The King Palace Seafood Restaurant has the best Chinese cuisine in the Sacramento area. That's according to me. The first time I ventured there with my friend Malcolm, I was taken back by the location. But I am adventurous and am willing to go places without regard to location. Our waitress that night, Paula, was very engaging and made our experience a positive one. Paula (who is the daughter of the owners), was very surprised to learn that I lived in Land Park. She remarked, "We don't get people from Land Park in our restaurant." Well Land Park residents, you are missing out on something very special.

First impressions of the restaurant break all first impression rules. The place is in a tired and run down shopping center at 5829 Stockton Boulevard. Entrance to the facility reveals a massive seating capability (perhaps the restaurant was a grocery store in earlier times). The decor is unappealling. But the food is awesome. Malcom and I liked it so much that we returned again three days later, as I was a bachelor for the week because my wife was out of town.

We vowed to bring my wife sometime in the future. Well, the future was last week. Malcolm, Gillian and I had the pleasure of dining at the King Palace over the weekend. We had a blast. Paula's sister Fiona waited on us. She was fantastic. We had a great time. The food was outstanding. The wait staff (it's a family affair - we met the third sister) coupled with the food make this place a keeper! And the price is right.

We will go again and again.
