Au Contraire!
Just because 99 out of 100 people think an idea ia a good idea, doesn’t make it a good idea. For example:
- Often, the best time to buy stock is when everyone else is selling. This also applies to housing.
- The drumbeat for war sometimes beats so loud, reasonable voices are silenced.
- Spare the rod, spoil the child should really be invest in the child now, save lots of money on the rod later.
- The biggest fish is often caught where no one else is fishing.
- Instead of following the conventional wisdom of diversification, put all your eggs in one basket and mind that basket very well.
- Americans love to spend their bonuses. Saving it is better.
- Americans love to have too much tax taken out of their paycheck so they can get a refund at the end of the year. Perhaps they should keep the excess, invest it all year, and pay the balance when due.
- Why plan to retire? Wouldn’t it be great to have a job you love until the day you die?
- Big teams are not as effective at solving problems as small teams.
- Most people vacation in popular spots during popular months. Suggest vacationing during the offseason – the lack of crowds is exhilarating.
- Most people get their news from the same source(s) every day. Try something new for a change, preferably with an international flair.
- Most people vote for the candidate they would most like to have a beer or a prom date with - why not research where the candidates stand on the issues that are important to you?
