Our 4-Hour Workweek

The first week of 2008 proved to be tough on Wall Street with all the major indices down.

• The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 3.5% to 12,800.18.
• The NASDAQ fell 5.6% to 2,504.65.
• The S&P 500 Index fell 3.9% to 1411.63.
• The Power Women 50 Index fell 3.3% to $91,262.65 (details).
• The Magic Formula Index fell 6.6% to $91,455.60 (details).
• Our 4-Hour Workweek basket of stocks and cash broke even at $24,144.16
• Pierre's 401K group of mutual funds fell 3.8% to $66,559.61 (after a contribution of $1,043.28).

My road to $1,000,0000 took a small detour this week, falling 1.7% to $90,703.77. Of particular note, the Power Women 50 outperformed all the major indices and their male counterparts! And I am most proud that my basked of four stocks, Procter and Gamble (PG), FMC Technologies (FTI) Freeport Copper (FCX), and Holly Corporation (HOC) beat all the indices, not giving up any ground.
