Livney Lives The 4-Hour Workweek Way

Tim Ferriss, you would be proud of Jeff Livney! Check out his story, courtesy of Angela Shah, reporter for the Dallas Morning News.

Jeff Livney thought he wanted to be an attorney, so, at 16, he secured a paid internship at a law practice in California.

For one of his first assignments, he was asked to create the firm's Web site. "They assumed all young high school guys knew about this, and I didn't," he said. "But I had a friend that did. So I paid him less than what I was being paid and enjoyed a leisurely summer in California."

With that mindset, Mr. Livney created Liveny+Partners, a full service boutique marketing firm in the four years since that internship.

Now that's a true 4-Hour Workweek entrepreneur!

Graybeards Strike Gold On Google

Unbelievable gold mind find! The graybeards have found the mother lode with Google. And they are doing it the Tim Ferriss way - the 4-Hour Workweek.

Jefferson Graham, writer for the USA Today reports:

Handyman Jerry Alonzy, age 57, makes $120,000 a year from Google ads on his Natural Handyman website. How much effort does Jerry put into it?

"I put two, maybe three hours a day on the site, and the checks pour in," he says.

Jerry, you're killing me! You've managed to hit my personal goal of $10,000 per month income from my websites.

Jerry proudly notes, "All I need is a laptop and a high-speed Internet connection, and I can live anywhere."

Handyman Jerry, you are the quintessential image that Tim Ferriss has created - "Escape 9-5, live anywhere & join the rich."

If Handyman Jerry can do it, so can I!

And there are other graybeards:

  • 75-year old retiree Jerrold Foutz earns $25,000 a year with Google ads on his switching mode power supplies website www.smpstech.com;
  • empty-nester Hope Prior earns $90,000 from her recipe website www.cooksrecipes.com;
  • 74-year old bee enthusiast, Al Needham, earns $250 a month with www.bees-online.com; and,
  • camera buff Gail Bjork, a 63-year old Tampa resident, earns $1,500 a month with www.digicamhelp.com.

Thanks Tim for enlightening me on the the 4-Hour Workweek. And thanks to Jefferson Graham for reinforcing to his readers that it can be done.

With 24 employees and a $4 million a year revenue base, Marla has created an avid "cult-like" readership. Her story is compelling.

To see how she did it, check out Susan Hauser's August 16th article on CNN Money - How FlyLady nags her way to millions, A clutter-busting homemaker creates a fast-growing business empire.

I wonder if Mark Laswell will call Marla a slacker?

Keep it up Marla!

Hey Gillian - is Marla a candidate for your SacWomen's speaker series?
